Terms of Use

This page states the basis on which everything here is published: educational material, dated figures, and a high-risk instrument.

Educational material only

Everything on this site is educational material only; it is not advice and not an offer to buy or sell anything. Reading a page here does not create any advisory relationship, and no page is written with knowledge of your finances, your obligations or your experience.

We are not a broker, bank or licensed adviser, and we cannot open an account for you or hold your money. Any decision to trade gold (XAU/USD) is yours, taken with a broker you chose and verified yourself.

What this site does not promise about FxPro's costs, execution or withdrawals

Kampala Counter makes no promise about FxPro's costs, execution quality or withdrawal speed, because those sit with the broker and vary by account and market conditions. What a gold trade costs consists of the spread the broker quotes, any commission attached to your account type, and swap or financing if you hold overnight. We were not given figures for any of these, so we describe what they consist of and what they depend on rather than quoting a number. Read FxPro's own schedule before you size a position.

Kampala Counter does not promise that a Mobile Money deposit or withdrawal will complete within any particular time, because processing depends on the broker and the mobile network. We also do not promise that leverage will be available at any particular level: the maximum leverage available in Uganda is the cap that applies to the entity serving this country, and it is a cap, not a setting to aim at. Using the full cap on gold leaves little room for the market to move against you before margin calls.

Kampala Counter does not promise that the platforms named here, MT4, MT5, cTrader or the FxPro app, will behave identically or stay unchanged. Features, order types and mobile access can be revised by the broker, and an outage can prevent you closing a position when you want to. We describe the tools as they are presented, not as a guarantee of uptime or fill quality. Test any function you depend on with a small position first, and keep your own record of orders and balances.

Limits of liability for readers who act on this material

Kampala Counter is not liable for trading losses you incur after reading this site, because the decision and the order are yours. Gold trading with leverage can lose money quickly, and no page here transfers that risk to us. If you open a position on XAU/USD and the market moves against you, the loss sits in your account with FxPro. Our liability for any claim connected to your use of this site is limited to the extent the law allows, and where Ugandan law does not permit a limit, that limit does not apply to the extent it is prohibited.

Kampala Counter does not guarantee that any figure, explanation or worked example on the site is free of error or current at the moment you read it. The reference price of about 4275.0 is an anchor for teaching, not a live quote, and live prices, margin requirements and platform behaviour come from FxPro. We are not responsible for outages, rejected orders, Mobile Money delays or any failure on the broker's side. Check the broker's own contract and risk disclosures before you rely on anything that matters to your money.

Kampala Counter is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the site, including lost profit or lost opportunity. We are also not responsible for third-party sites we link to, including FxPro's own pages, whose content and terms we do not control. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are unsure whether a limit applies to your situation, take qualified legal advice in Uganda rather than relying on this plain-language summary.

The affiliate relationship behind links to FxPro, stated in full

Kampala Counter earns money when a reader follows a link to FxPro and opens an account, and that is the nature of our affiliate relationship. FxPro pays us a referral commission or similar fee for accounts opened through our links. You pay nothing extra for arriving through Kampala Counter: the costs you face are the ones set by the FxPro entity that serves this country, charged on your account as they would be for any other client. The commission comes from FxPro's side of the arrangement, not from your balance.

The affiliate arrangement means we have a financial interest in you choosing FxPro rather than another broker, and you should weigh that when reading. We try to keep the incentive visible rather than hidden: this page exists so you know the relationship before you click, and every page that carries a link carries this disclosure. We do not present FxPro as suitable for you personally, and we do not rank brokers by how much they pay us. Where we describe platforms such as MT4, MT5, cTrader or the FxPro app, we describe what they are.

The affiliate relationship does not change the facts we publish, and it does not make us part of your account. We cannot see your trades, influence your fills or speed a Mobile Money withdrawal. If FxPro's terms, costs or entity arrangements change, the affiliate link does not change them, and we cannot promise any particular outcome from opening an account. Use the link only if, after reading our material and FxPro's own documents, you have decided the broker fits what you are trying to do.

How revisions to these terms reach readers

Changes to these terms are published on this page, and the published version replaces the earlier one from the moment it goes live. We do not send individual notices for routine edits. If a change affects the affiliate disclosure or the limits of liability, the revised wording appears here in full rather than as a summary elsewhere. Readers who want to track changes should revisit this page rather than rely on a copy they saved, because a saved copy may describe an arrangement that no longer exists.

Revised terms apply to your use of the site from publication onward, and they do not rewrite anything already done. A change to the affiliate disclosure does not alter commission already earned, and a change to the liability wording does not reopen a past claim. We keep the page as a single current statement rather than a stack of versions, so the only reliable text is the one you are reading now. Where a change depends on FxPro's own documents, the broker's published terms control your account regardless of what this page says.

We publish changes without prior notice because the site is general information rather than a contract you sign, and continued reading after publication counts as acceptance of the revised text. If you do not accept a revision, the remedy is to stop using the site. Nothing in a revision can promise you a particular trading outcome, remove the risk warning, or convert general information into personal advice. If you need certainty about the terms at a specific date, take a dated copy and seek qualified legal advice in Uganda.

Dated figures and affiliate links

Every figure here is dated to the day it was read from a broker's documents and must be verified with the broker before you rely on it. Costs and conditions change, so a number that was right when checked may not be right when you read it, and the broker's own current documents always win.

Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means we may be paid a referral fee if you open an account through them. Your relationship is with the broker, not with us: the account, the money, the Mobile Money deposits and withdrawals, and any dispute all sit between you and that firm.

Kampala Counter publishes gold information, not personal investment advice

Kampala Counter is an information publisher about trading gold (XAU/USD), and nothing on it is personal advice. Every page explains how the instrument, costs, leverage and platform mechanics work so you can make your own decision. We do not know your income, your debts in USh, your other holdings or your tolerance for loss, so we cannot tell you whether a gold position suits you. Treat every explanation here as general education, and treat any decision to open, size or close a trade as yours alone.

Kampala Counter is not a broker, dealer or fund manager, and it never holds client money. Deposits go to FxPro through Mobile Money, and your account relationship, order execution and withdrawal process sit with the FxPro entity that serves this country, not with us. We do not accept orders, run accounts or move funds. If a page describes margin, a pip value or platform features, it is describing FxPro's offering because that is the broker we write about, not because we operate it.

Kampala Counter does not tailor content to any individual reader and does not manage money for anyone. The reference price of about 4275.0, the pip of 0.01 and the 100 oz contract size are illustrative anchors for explaining the maths, not signals, targets or forecasts. Where a page works through a figure such as roughly $85.50 margin on a 0.10-lot gold position at the applicable leverage cap, the point is to show how margin is calculated, not to suggest that size or that trade. Read the numbers as arithmetic examples.

Ugandan law governs use of this site

The law that applies to your use of Kampala Counter is the law of Uganda, and any dispute about the site is handled under it. Reading the site from another country does not change that. This choice of law covers the content, the affiliate disclosure and these terms. It does not govern your trading account: the agreement you sign with the FxPro entity that serves this country is governed by whatever law that contract names, and you should read it. Two relationships, two sets of terms, and this page speaks only for the site.

The regulator position is separate from the law of the site, and you should confirm it yourself. FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA; confirm any broker on the CMA Uganda licensed persons list. That sentence is the caveat we repeat because it matters more than anything else on this page. Kampala Counter is not a licensed investment adviser in Uganda and does not hold itself out as one. Before funding through Mobile Money, check the entity's licensing status against the CMA Uganda list rather than trusting a link.

Where a dispute about this site reaches a court, it is a Ugandan court applying Ugandan law, and you agree to that forum by using the site. We make no claim that content here is appropriate or lawful in every jurisdiction, and if local rules where you sit conflict with these terms, you are responsible for complying with them. This is a plain-language statement of the governing law, not legal advice, and it does not override any mandatory consumer protection you may have under Ugandan law.

The risk you are accepting

CFDs on gold carry a high risk of loss because leverage magnifies both directions of a move, and most retail accounts lose money. A one-pip move on gold is 0.01, one standard lot is 100 oz, and leverage is a cap rather than a setting to aim at.

Margin is not a cost but a deposit held against an open position, and it can be lost quickly when the market moves against you. Only money you can genuinely afford to lose belongs anywhere near this, and the regulator caveat applies: FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA; confirm any broker on the CMA Uganda licensed persons list.

FAQ

Common questions

What is Kampala Counter, in legal terms?

It is an information site about gold (XAU/USD) written for readers in Uganda. It is not a broker, a dealer, an investment adviser or a fund manager, and nothing on it is a personal recommendation. Any decision to trade is yours, taken with a broker you have checked yourself.

What risk am I taking by trading gold?

Trading gold on leverage can lose money quickly, and losses can exceed what you expected to risk if a position moves against you. Leverage is a cap, not a target: at the applicable cap a 0.10-lot position needs about $85.50 margin, and a small price move can wipe out that margin. Never trade money you cannot afford to lose.

Does Kampala Counter guarantee that a broker is safe or regulated?

No. We repeat the regulator sentence and nothing more: FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA; confirm any broker on the CMA Uganda licensed persons list. Checking that list, reading the account terms and testing a small withdrawal are steps only you can take before funding an account.

Are the calculators on the site a promise of any result?

No. The position size, pip value, margin, profit and pivot point tools do the arithmetic you put into them, and that is all. They do not predict price, account for spreads, swaps or slippage, or guarantee that an order fills. Treat every output as a calculation, not a forecast.

Which law applies to my use of this site?

Your use of the site is on the terms published here, and any dispute about the content is handled under those terms. Trading itself is governed by the agreement you sign with your broker and by the regulator named in it, not by Kampala Counter, which has no part in that contract.
